Venice Airport Transportation

Venice Airport is located in the little town of Tessera, 4.3 nautical miles (8 kilometres) from the city of Venice. The airport is connected to the train station, the bus station and shuttle water, allowing you to reach most tourist destinations by public transport. When moving by land from Venice Airport to the Venice City Center, you arrive in Piazzale Roma. This square is the point of arrival for those who wants to visit the city by car. Once in this square, you can continue only with ACTV water buses or on foot.

- Venice Marco Polo Airport to Piazzale Rome: 40€ more or less during day. Rates are a bit expensive during night hours.
- Venice Marco Polo Airport to Venice Cruise Terminal: 45€ more or less. Rates are a bit expensive during night hours.

Nevertheless, you can check on the internet to see other companies that should be booked in advance.


There are two bus companies in Venice Airport that connects you to the Venice city center or other destinations in Mainland. The companies are called ACTV and AVTO. The tickets for those companies can be purchased in arrivals lounge.

Venice - Piazzale Roma:

You can reach the Piazzale Roma using "line 5" of ACTV or "express service" of ATVO.


You can go to Mestre (Mestre Railway station) using "line 15" of ACTV or "fly bus" of ATVO.

There is no train station inside the airport. To connect to other destinations by train, you should take the bus routes that connect Venice Marco Polo Airport to Mestre Railway Station (Line 15 or fly bus) or Santa Lucia railway station (Line 5 or express service). 
To pick up a bus from the Airport go to the second lane outside the Arrivals hall.

Alilaguna Boats

Alilaguna Boats is a public transport service that offers 5 lines connecting the most important points of Venice.

The 5 lines connect Marco Polo Airport to Venice city centre, the Lido, Murano and Punta Sabbioni.
